Here are the surnames of people connected with Russia. There are many such surnames. On this first page they are from beginning till Bj..., on the second page they are from Bla... till the end. Some are prezent on our site, some are with genealogical information, some with contact information of their reprezentatives. Everything is in Russian. I won't translate it for you - it is a very big site and webmastering it takes a lot of time, but you can try any autotranslating service or find a person who knows Russian..
You can post your search message on the messageboard. I understand that it is difficult for a person who don't know Russian (there is a Russian interface there), but you can try.
When you get there, you can push the left red-brown square button:
In the upper line you are to write the head of your message. On the third line you are to write your name, or you can leave the word Guest there. Write nothing on the fourth line. And write you message in the lowest square. The message will be posted when you'll push the left lower square gray button on which it is written something like OTIIPABNTL. Don't forget to write your contact information, so that people could answer you somehow. Or you can remember the address of your message (when it appears) and vizit it to look if somebody answered.
If you wont'manage, we can post your message on this page or on the messageboard. It's free. Write Stas at mr.ghost@mail.ru and he'll post it, maybe not immediately.

Hello, I'm an Australian trying to find ancesters from my mother's Russian side of the family.  My grandfather's name was Ivan Bazalej.  I think he mainly lived in the Ukraine, but I know that my mother was born in Polland. I belive he had a wife and 2 daughters there before the war.  Do you have any information within the family tree that relates to this or the family he had before the war? Any information would be greatly appreciated. Yours sincerely Luisa D'Accione Luisa.DAccione@WaitemataDHB.govt.nz (January 2003).

I have been researching my wife's family, BELAKOVKSY from Odessa. They emigrated from Odessa to new York in 1907. If anybody has relatives from Odessa with the name Belakovsky, I would like to explore the possibilities of a connection. Lawrence S. Brail, Chicago, USA. para906020@aol.com (July 2003).

I am trying to find information on WLADIMIR BELINSKIJ. His birth date is 19 February 1917. His occupation was supposed to be engineer. He was drafted into the Russian army during World War II and ended up in a German displaced persons camp. From there he immigrated to the United States in 1951. His parents names are ALEXANDER BELINSKIJ and MARIA JANOWSKA. I appreciate any help you can give me. C. Belinsky CB5522@yahoo.com(October 2002).

I am trying to find the history of my paternal grandparents.  I do know that they are from Russia.  The names are Avram (Abraham) Bronstein and Gietel (Gussie) Beller.  They would have been born around the 1880's, maybe late 1870's.  I believe Minsk and or Pinsk was places of origin.  Please help. Thank you. Sincerely, Cat e-mail: catcat33351@yahoo.com (October 2003).

My farthers name was Morris Berezin. My uncles name was Jacob. Came from Russia. r.berezin@worldnet.att.net (October 2002).
Hello. My name is Lisa Koelink-Burke, and I am researching the surname BERK. My family came from Lithuania, I don't know if your research covers that country, but I am writing anyway, incase it does. My grandfather Josif  Berk was born in Vilnius October 3rd 1872.  I have his birth certificate, gained by my cousin last year.  His father's name was Aizik  and mother's was Feiga.  It doesn't give a maiden name for feiga.  They were Jewish. Apart from this information, we believe that Josif (who emigrated to England in the late 19th century and used the name Joseph Nathan Burke), had brothers  and a sister.  Abraham Berk  who emigrated to America in 1905, and Aaron, Zadok, and sister Beila, whom we know nothing about. We don't know what happened to any of these people, apart from my grandfather and Abraham. Joseph married Bertha Willson in London in 1898, and had children, Louis (my father), Harris, Irene and Winifred.  He died there in 1930. This message is a shot in the dark, I know, but any information would be so helpful, as we really are in need of help with our father's family.  We only found  out they were Jewish a few years ago!!  Although we all had our suspicions, and family stories all leaned in that direction! Thanks for any help Lisa henklisa@zeelandnet.nl (October 2003)
